Manufacture of the V-tail Bonanza began in 1945, making it one of the first high-performance small civilian aircraft. The design has proven so reliable that its successors are still in production today, although the airframe has undergone many modifications over the years. The most noticeable change was elimination of the distinctive V-tail. This 1947 B-35 is an early model that was flown to the Kansas Aviation Museum from Westport Airport in West Wichita.
