Our image library covers a broad swath of aviation history. Just a small sampling includes the Boeing B-52D (nickname BUFF); Stearman Ariel; Republic F84-F; Cessna 310; and T-37 trainer (Tweety Bird).
The museum’s archive includes a collection of images of the B-29, built in Wichita. One of the most important ongoing projects is the restoration of ‘Doc,’ a B-29 that is being fully refurbished on our grounds by the U.S. Aviation Museum. We’re developing a close working relationship with that Ohio-based museum, which owns ‘Doc,’ and we hope that this beautifully restored aircraft will be based and hangared at the Kansas Aviation Museum.
Our archive is open to the public, under supervision. We recommend that you contact us in advance to work out details and ensure that you’re able to make the best use of your research time. Call 316.683.9242 or email info@kansasaviationmuseum.org.
