Each year the Kansas Commission on Aerospace Education evaluates nominations for an aerospace educator of the year.
Criteria
The award is open to all Kansas teachers – from kindergarten through higher education – who are actively involved in classroom or home teaching. Nominees must have demonstrated leadership in promoting aerospace education through any discipline and should be recognized by peers as a teacher who motivates and inspires students.
Nomination package must be received no later than Aug. 1.
Documentation
On separate attachments please provide the following essential nominee information and any supporting documentation/material.
1. A letter describing why your nominee deserves to receive this award, including a short synopsis (200 words or less) of your nominee’s efforts to promote aerospace.
2. Letters of endorsement of your nominee from someone other than the nominator.
3. A list of awards received by your nominee that emphasize aerospace or related fields, as applicable.
4. The teacher’s lesson plans and/or units showing how aerospace education is integrated into his or her instruction. |
